Job Summary

The Medical Assistant plays a key role in supporting medical providers by performing both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth and positive patient experience. This position involves preparing patients for examinations assisting with procedures and maintaining an organized and safe clinical environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examinations by reviewing medical history documenting symptoms and updating medications.

  • Record and document vital signs.

  • Assist medical providers with exams and procedures as needed.

  • Administer medications and injections.

  • Perform phlebotomy.

  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens including pathology urine fecal and blood samples.

  • Stock exam rooms and ensure adequate supplies.

  • Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.

  • Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by following established standards and regulations.

  • Answer telephones schedule appointments take messages and provide information to patients.

  • Triage review and route test results appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; Bachelors degree or equivalent healthcare training preferred.

  • Experience in a healthcare organization is preferred but not required.
