Job Summary
The Biomedical Equipment Technician III (BMET III) plays a key role in supporting patient care by maintaining repairing and calibrating a wide range of biomedical equipment. This advanced-level role requires strong technical expertise problem-solving ability and the capacity to work independently while mentoring junior technicians. The BMET III ensures equipment reliability supports clinical staff and helps maintain a safe efficient healthcare environment.
Responsibilities

Use and maintain electronic test equipment power supplies pressure/vacuum gauges and all relevant biomedical devices.

Assemble repair and maintain electronic devices according to specifications.

Service and repair life-support and other high-risk patient care and diagnostic equipment.

Assist with scheduled maintenance programs including assigning work orders and verifying accurate documentation.

Document all repair and maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance system.
-
Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions in accordance with technical requirements.
-
Research and order necessary parts for repairs and maintenance.
-
Provide technical training or in-service instruction to facility staff on equipment use.
-
Demonstrate cost awareness and financial responsibility.
-
Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues clinical staff and vendors.
-
Mentor and train Biomedical Technicians and apprentices.
-
Meet department performance standards consistently.
-
Maintain a clean safe and organized workspace.
-
Comply with all facility policies and procedures.
-
Supervise or coordinate vendor or OEM technicians during on-site work.

Collaborate with management to support ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
Education & Training

High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Technical certificate or DOD training required
-
College degree certification or advanced education related to the role preferred
