This is a unique opportunity to work for a boarding school-based health center we are looking for a temporary full-time provider for Spring term. Starting March 23rd-June 5th 32 hours a week (T/W/TH/F).
Position Purpose
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at Phillips Exeter Academy plays a vital role in promoting the physical and emotional well-being of students in a residential academic environment. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality student-centered primary and inpatient care managing acute and chronic health conditions and promoting health education and wellness initiatives within the school community. The APP ensures that care provided aligns with best practices in adolescent medicine and supports the unique needs of a diverse boarding school population.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive evidence-based primary and acute care to students including evaluation diagnosis treatment and follow-up. Consult with and refer to physician as appropriate.
- Manage acute illnesses injuries and chronic medical conditions in collaboration with the health center team.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state laws and protocols.
- Order interpret and follow up on diagnostic tests (e.g. labs imaging).
- Provide referrals to external specialists when necessary and coordinate ongoing care.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records in the schools electronic health system.
- Collaborate with RNs counselors athletic trainers nutrition and other staff to ensure holistic student care.
- Assist with infection control immunization compliance and communicable disease management.
- Working with individual students to increase appreciation of health and assumption of responsibility for their own health.
- Support school wellness initiatives and participate in student life programming where health expertise is beneficial.
- Communicating with parents regarding the health status of their children.
- Communicating with faculty/administration as appropriate regarding student health-related issues appropriate adjustments of student schedules etc.
- Overseeing the medical management of Health Services in the absence of the Medical Director.
- Acting as a liaison with Health Educators for selected health-service based education efforts.
- Communicating regularly with the Director of Nursing regarding health-care management of students.

Position Requirements
Education
- Advanced degree (NP/PA) required.
Experience and Licensure
- Current NH license with prescriptive authority.
- National Board Certification
- BLS required
- Experience in womens healthcare required.
- 3 - 5 years experience treating adolescents or young adults (e.g. primary care pediatrics school-based health or urgent care) preferred.
- Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting preferred.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g. sitting or standing) for extended periods while performing clinical duties and documentation.
- Ability to move about the health center go up and down flights of steps stoop squat bend kneel crouch and lift. Ability to respond promptly to medical emergencies.
- Ability to lift carry or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds as necessary for clinical care (e.g. patients supplies equipment).
- Sufficient manual dexterity to perform medical procedures operate equipment and use a computer or electronic medical record system.
- Adequate visual and auditory abilities to assess patients monitor vital signs and respond to emergency situations effectively.
- Capacity to adapt to a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with interruptions.
Additional Requirements
- Successfully complete a criminal background check (reviewed every 5 years).
- Successfully complete a pre-employment physical/health screening examination.
- This position is considered Essential Personnel
Compensation: $22000-$28000 for the assignment. The compensation for this temporary position is based on relevant education and experience and will be set within the listed salary range.
