Job Summary
BASIC FUNCTION:
Assist the choral director in stage direction set design and other technical aspects the choral department musical.
DISTINGUSHING CHARACTERISTICS:
- Have a vision for the chosen musical
- Attend the audition process and share input on it.
- Craete a rehearsal schedule for the time frame of the performance
- Help to create the design of the stage
- Attend all rehearsals involving dramatic direction
- Design costume scheme for the performers
- Help with final construction and decoration of the set.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Musical theatre and the direction of it
ABILITY TO:
- Run an audition
- Create a rehearsal schedule
- Give direction to teenagers and understand their personas
- Be very flexible with involved student schedules
- Communicate with the choral director and others
- Create a costume scheme
- Direct vision for lighting
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law and two years of increasingly responsible secretarial and clerical experience.
