Clerk Typist Curriculum & Instruction Office 32.5 hours per week.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The work involves the performance of standardized clerical tasks such as routine typing. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a higher ranking employee who gives detailed instructions for new assignments and practices. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Purchasing managing textbooks and supplies;
Tracking professional development hours; Keeps Home School Program records;
Types forms form letters payrolls bills vouchers records reports and similar materials;
Collects money and accounts for monies received;
Answers telephone take messages relays information directly or over intercommunication system;
Sorts correspondence vouchers and similar materials; Makes and checks routine arithmetical computations;
Files correspondence memoranda reports and other materials;
Acts as receptionist directing callers to the proper person or office; and gives information of a routine nature; Operates other office machines;
Indexes materials;
Utilizes enhanced computer systems and equipment in the completion of assigned clerical tasks.

Capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma including or supplemented by
a course in typing.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
As required by law or statute subject to medical examination including tuberculin (TB) test at time of appointment. Subject to a suitability background check investigation including fingerprinting local law enforcement check and verification check of citizenship/residency. A criminal record does not necessarily disqualify applicants from employment rather an individualized determination will be made.
NOTE 1: Office clerical experience including typing may be substituted for the high school requirement on a year for year basis.
NOTE 2: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
