Join Ground Control as our Lead SAP for Tree-Cutting Electrical Provision
Ground Control is seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person (11kV) to take a leading role in managing and delivering electrical shutdowns that support safe and efficient tree-cutting operations across our UK Power Networks region.
What youll do:
In this role you will be the technical lead for our electrical provision delivering your own outages while overseeing a small team of subcontract SAPs. Youll play a key part in ensuring safe high-quality and compliant delivery of all power isolation activities up to 11kV.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver your own tree-cutting power outages and oversee those completed by subcontract SAPs.
- Apply remove and supervise the application of earths back feeds and generation where required.
- Lead the electrical provision team ensuring all outages are completed safely efficiently and to high quality standards.
- Support delivery of the wider tree-cutting outage programme across the region.
- Manage and monitor budgets relating to the electrical provision.
- Champion safety compliance and operational excellence at every stage.
What Were Looking For
- Senior Authorised Person (SAP) with Field Control under UK Power Networks Distribution Safety Rules or SAP status with another DNO (training package available to transition to UKPN approval within 3 months).
- HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of UKPN (or other DNO) shutdown processes rules and regulations.
- A proactive problem-solver with excellent planning communication and decision-making skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
