Were seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our highly regarded Clinical Negligence Department offering exceptional career development opportunities within one of Sheffields leading legal practices.
The Role
Youll provide vital secretarial and administrative support to the Head of Department and wider fee earner team working on varied and complex clinical negligence matters within our specialist litigation department.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support to senior fee earners
Audio and copy typing of complex legal documents and correspondence
Managing diaries scheduling appointments and coordinating case activities
Assisting with file opening and closing procedures using electronic case management systems
Producing and preparing Court documents and electronic bundles for hearings
Liaising professionally with clients and external professionals via telephone and email
Supporting completion of forms and case management processes including invoicing
Assisting with billing procedures and financial case management
Supporting audit preparation for Legal Aid and ATE insurance providers
Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
What Were Looking For
Minimum 2 years experience as a Legal Secretary ideally in Clinical Negligence Personal Injury or related litigation
Experience working with electronic case management systems (Partner for Windows advantageous)
Strong understanding of Clinical Negligence case funding including ATE/BTE insurance
Knowledge of Legal Aid funding and CCMS systems would be beneficial
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with professional telephone manner
Exceptional attention to detail organisation and time management abilities
Proactive approach with ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
