Requirements: Bachelor of Education Special Education and Experience with ELL students

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

Ability to work with teachers and support staff to create learning opportunities that meet the diverse needs of students. Ability to conduct formal and informal assessments to understand the learning needs of students and be able to program for student needs based on results of assessments. The ideal candidate will have experience in Special Education and demonstrated leadership skills.

• Able to administer Level B individual assessments
• Lead Teacher for RTI Numeracy and Literacy.
• Experience in the coordination of programming for students with special needs in an inclusive environment
• Student centered approach to instruction and teacher-student relationships.
• Ability to design program and implement instruction for students with special needs.
• Ability to process and manage confidential records.
• Ability to work with parents social agencies and support organizations.
• Effective organizational skills and classroom management.
• Successful experience working with adolescents with special needs or learning
• A strong Literacy and Numeracy background.
• A willingness to work with parents social agencies and organizations.
• A willingness to participate in the school community beyond the classroom.
• A commitment to continuous professional growth.

All candidates must hold or be able to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate have knowledge of curriculum and teaching experience at those levels/subject areas and demonstrated interpersonal and classroom management skills
