Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant (MA) Lead is responsible for knowing his/her professional scope of practice. The MA Lead maintains a clean organized and safe environment and performs patient care services that support the physician / providers practice under the clinical supervision of the Physician Registered Nurse Nurse Practitioner physicians assistant or licensed Vocational Nurse. This includes assisting in prepping patients for examinations or procedures assisting with procedures relaying instructions from the physician to a patient or authorized person and collecting patient data. Documenting patient concerns patient messages and care provided to the patient in the patients medical record for the physicians review. Administrating medications specifically directed by the physician and performing accurate vital sign measurements and documentation.
The lead is responsible for overseeing the day- to-day operations of the back office and other duties as assigned by the area Medical Assistant (MA) Lead is responsible for knowing his/her professional scope of practice. Job Requirements
Minimum
High School Diploma/GED
Six (6) months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant along with demonstrated experience with computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients or
Medical Assistant Program or completion of an U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program.
Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
Preferred
One year of previous MA experience highly
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
Previous experience in designated specialty
Bilingual skills preferred
