Job Summary
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Surgical Services
Location: Rochester NY 14626
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule:
4x10-hour day shifts (11:00 21:30)
On-call required
Must be available for 6 weekend or holiday shifts per 8-week period
No block scheduling
Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join a dynamic Surgical Services team in a high-volume acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be skilled across multiple service lines and demonstrate proficiency in a wide variety of surgical procedures including general orthopedic vascular ENT gynecological urology and robotic-assisted cases.
Requirements
CST certification required
Note: Certification not required if employed as a Surgical Tech in NY prior to 2015
Minimum 3 years of surgical technology experience (experience in multiple service lines strongly preferred)
Prior travel experience required (unit does not accept first-time travelers)
Call coverage required
Epic experience preferred
Clinical Skills
Candidates should be proficient in the following:
Bariatric surgeries (Gastric bypass sleeve lap band)
Vascular procedures (AAA repair carotid endarterectomy endovascular aneurysm repair fem-pop bypass)
ENT (laryngoscopy radical neck dissection tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy tracheostomy)
General surgery (appendectomy cholecystectomy colon resection hernia repair mastectomy thyroidectomy)
Gynecology (tubal ligation D&C cervical cerclage laparoscopic-assisted procedures)
Orthopedic and spine surgeries (fusions laminectomy discectomy total joint replacements XLIF)
Robotic-assisted procedures (Da Vinci Xi system colorectal urologic)
Urology (cystoscopy nephrectomy prostatectomy ureteroscopy)
Demonstrated understanding of aseptic technique sharps safety decontamination/sterilization processes and Universal Protocol (time-out)

Scrubs provided
Facility uses Epic charting system
Exposure to 12 surgical service lines
Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)
