Waste Connections is seeking a reliable and hardworking LocalCDLDriver to join our team in Oklahoma City Oklahoma. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection andtransportationof waste to designated disposal sites. This role requires a strong commitment tosafetycustomer service and environmental responsibility.
Pay: $24.50 per hour
Days: Monday Friday with rotating Saturdays
Hours: Start time 4 am. Working 45-55 hour per week
KeyResponsibilities:
Waste CollectionandTransportation:
Operatetrashtrucks to collect garbagerecycling and yard waste on assigned routes.
Ensure the safe and efficient loading of waste materials using appropriate techniques andequipment.
Transport collected waste to designated disposal facilities.
VehicleOperationand Maintenance:
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck ensuring it is in good working condition.
Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the fleet maintenance team promptly.
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the vehicle to ensure compliance withsafetystandards.
Safetyand Compliance:
Adhere to allsafetyprotocols and company policies while operating the vehicle and handling waste materials.
Comply with local state and federal regulations related towaste managementandtransportation.
Usepersonal protective equipment(PPE) as required and provided.
Customer Service:
Interact courteously with customers and the public addressing any questions or concerns professionally.
Ensurewaste collectionservices meet customer expectations and resolve issues promptly.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of daily routes waste collected and any incidents or issues encountered.
Complete and submit requireddocumentationin a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Validcommercial drivers license(CDL) with a clean driving record.
Two years ofcommercial drivingexperiencepreferred.
Strong knowledge of local streets and routes.
Excellent driving skills with a focus onsafety.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and loading heavy items with the ability to stand walk bend and climb into the truck multiple times a day.
Comfortable working in various weather conditions
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Steady working history.
Basicmechanical knowledgefor vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks.
