MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE and OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction. Conducts all activities with an appreciation respect and promotion of diversity of people styles and views.
Early Childhood Education Program Standard:
A qualified faculty member in early childhood education meets the program standard through:
an earned masters or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in early childhood education child development;
or
an earned masters or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in family and consumer sciences elementary education special needs curriculum and instruction or administration with 18 graduate credit hours in courses closely related to early childhood education and development with academic preparation appropriate to the course and /or specialty being taught;
and
one of the following: a) Professional certification in the field; or b) Two years of directly related work experience in the field of early childhood - birth through age 8.
ECED 105 Course Standard
A qualified faculty member teaching ECED 105 meets the Early Childhood Education (ECED) program standard and holds a CDA Professional Development Specialist credential
