The Cleaner is responsible for keeping our wholesale parts warehouse in clean and orderly condition. This is accomplished by effectively and efficiently cleaning the warehouse spaces while using a variety of tools and cleaning supplies to ensure these spaces are kept neat clean and sanitary.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Cleaner is accountable for performing the duties and responsibilities described below. The list however is not necessarily an exhaustive description of the duties and responsibilities associated with the job.
- Dust surfaces including window frames room dividers picture frames plants exit signs parts fixtures etc.
- Wipe down and sanitize surfaces including tables (top & base) desks chairs doorknobs and handles door frames light switches phones keyboards countertops garbage cans etc.
- Take extra care to thoroughly disinfect high touch surfaces (bathrooms and breakroom area)
- Clean glass including interior windows mirrors glass doors etc.
- Clean and disinfect the bathrooms (toilet faucet sink mirror counter) and ensure supplies are well-stocked
- Clean building floors by sweeping mopping scrubbing or vacuuming
- Gather and empty the trash
- Inventory cleaning supplies and notify the manager of supplies that are running low
- Identify potential safety or maintenance issues and communicate them to the manager
- Interact with staff and customers in a professional and courteous manner
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed
Expectations
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and equipment to ensure effective cleaning personal safety and to prevent damage
- Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures including the dress code
- Perform duties as workload necessitates
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude
- Communicate regularly with supervisor about department issues verbally and/or in written form
- Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload
- Consistently report to work on time prepared to perform duties of the position
- Strive for harmony and teamwork within the department and between other departments
- Communicate verbally and non-verbally clearly concisely and with enthusiasm in all interactions
- Listen actively to understand others completely
- General housekeeping maintaining a clean and efficient work area free of debris and clutter
Required Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and task oriented
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
- High motivation work ethic and enthusiasm
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Some computer knowledge and/or experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to pass a drug test
Physical Demands

- Must be comfortable standing and walking for long periods of time
- Use hands and fingers to handle cleaning materials such as spray bottles cleaning cloths vacuums etc.
- Stand walk sit
- Bend stretch twist and reach with arms and legs
- Climb balance stoop kneel crouch
- Lift and move up to 20 pounds
- Vision requirements include: closeness distance peripheral depth perception and the ability to focus
- Use physical and manual dexterity
- Use computers and office equipment as part of their daily functions
- May be exposed to moderate noise (i.e. office machines computer printers and light traffic)

Work Schedule
Part time employees are regularly scheduled for anything less than 40 hours. All employees are required to take meal breaks in accordance with New York state law.
