DescriptionThis Project Manager serves as UTCs representative ensuring compliance with programmatic requirements applicable codes industry standards best practices specifications and incorporation of campus standards into every project from design through project closeout.
Responsibilities- Manage assigned capital and local projects from design through project closeout and local projects not requiring bid documents
- Serves as UTCs representative ensuring compliance with programmatic requirements applicable codes industry standards best practices specifications and incorporation of campus standards into every project
- Serves as a liaison with university user groups affected by projects providing clear communication and managing expectations
- Assists with engineering and planning tasks
- Develops statements of work and solicits project cost estimates
- Develops associated documents as required for construction/renovation projects
- Recommends field adjustments and redesign decisions to resolve problems or conflicts
- Manages time and material contracts for projects
- Reviews/approves invoices for proper adherence to scope of work and terms of contract agreements
- Performs CMMS tasks in TMA (and other database software as required) to create projects assign work orders process invoices input estimates and costs record status changes develop and/or monitor associated reports etc.
- Performs AutoCad Revit and other drafting/modeling software tasks as required
- Participates in master planning facility assessments and project programming
- Coordinates professional consulting work
- Assists with design standards development and documentation campus space data collection and analysis
- Assists in bid evaluation and award recommendation
- Assists in annual capital maintenance and capital outlay submittals
- Participates in surge space planning and execution as needed
- Assists with the organization and maintenance of project document retention system
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Knowledge of construction concepts practices and procedures
- Knowledge of a variety of purchasing/procurement and contracting methods
- Knowledge of cost estimating methods
- Knowledge of software applications (word processing spreadsheet AutoCAD Autodesk-Revit Microsoft Project Bluebeam etc.)
- Knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements
- Knowledge and experience in the renovation of buildings including building and infrastructure systems
- Construction management knowledge
- Ability to review design documents for compliance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The review of applications will begin July 25 2025and will continue until the position is filled.
QualificationsMinimum: Requires a bachelors degree in engineering architecture construction management or related degree; and four years of relevant experience in project management; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Preferred: Appropriate licensure in a functional area (i.e. licensed architect landscape architect engineer or interior designer); facilities project management experience in a higher education institution; and working knowledge of UT/UTC Work Control Space and ERP databases is preferred.
