DescriptionHiring Salary: Salary Commensurate with Education and Experience
Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration develop and coordinates the day-to-day operational human resources facilities communications and internal relations information management and technology and budgetary and financial management of the College of Pharmacy. This position functions as a key member of the Deans management team and acts as the Deans representative within the college in relation to these functions.
ResponsibilitiesAdministers and manages the College of Pharmacy budget for all departments/units. This includes state appropriations grants and contracts and special grant awards.
Advises and interprets all policies and procedures for the Dean of the College.
Reviews and updates the colleges requirements evaluates qualifications of applicants investigates past performance histories of applicants and oversees the negotiation of contracts for professional services.
Solicits processes evaluates and adjudicates research awards bestowed by the college; provides ongoing interactions with affiliated institutions; and liaisons with commercial entities and outside pharmaceutical agencies.
Settles all decisions involving the budgetary and day-to-day fiscal operations of the College of Pharmacy and all its departments/units.
Interprets administrative and financial policy for the college and the departmental/unit business managers.
Adjudicates disputes relating to budgetary matters within the college and all departments/units.
Answers interprets and adjudicates fiscal questions presented by the chairs or the directors of the college departments/units.
Resolves disputes relating to personnel matters within the financial and business offices within departments/units as necessary.
Reviews applications for employment and evaluates the qualifications of applicants to positions of employment.
Examines staffing needs and the addition and/or deletion of positions.
Oversees human resources issues within the college.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsEDUCATION:BachelorsDegree in Business Finance or Accounting.(TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE:Nine (9) years of progressive experience that includes finance administration program management or human resources; ORMasters Degree and seven (7) years of progressive experience that includes finance administration program management or human resources an equivalent combination of education training and experience. (CPA preferred.)
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to multitask.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities to meet deadlines.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and a positive and respectful attitude with peers students supervisors administrators customers and visitors.
- Advanced experience with automated spreadsheets financial databases and a high level of analytical skills.
- Highly proficient computer skills (including Microsoft Word PowerPoint Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to develop and present financial data and analysis.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects that require demonstrated leadership ability.
- Ability to maintain sensitive confidential and personal issues and ethical quandaries.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends. May require occasional overnight travel.
