Comer Childrens is a Level I pediatric trauma center. Comer provides care for critically ill and injured children in our technologically advanced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. This 30-bed facility is fully equipped to treat children with complex medical problems conditions requiring major surgery including cardiac transplant and neurosurgery and multiple traumas.
Assistant Patient Care ManagerJob Summary:
The Assistant Patient Care Manager will be responsible and accountable for over-seeing the operations of a designated Care Center on her/his respective shift. Duties include directing delivery of quality patient-centered care in a financially responsible manner. This is in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Care Center Patient Care Managers and Clinical Director.
The Assistant Patient Care Manager (APCM) for the Comer PICU provides clinical and administrative this role you are responsible for assisting in the management of the nursing and clinical support staff. The APCM is responsible for providing regulatory and quality oversight to the staff. This person works in conjunction with the Patient Care Manager to oversee the daily operations of the unit in a financially responsible and patient-centered care manner. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the mission vision and values of The University of Chicago Medical Center Comer Childrens Hospital.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
