DescriptionHearst Technology Services is seeking an individual who will help our organization achieve its technology vision. We are hiring a Director Data Management & Engineering who will work with teams across a multi-faceted organization. As a Director you will be responsible for providing direction to Data Engineers as well as performing hands on work in the full development life cycle of complex data projects requiring integrations and transformations including analysis design development and support of complex data pipelines in cloud environments.
ResponsibilitiesWhat Youll Do:
Provide directions to a team of engineers in the building and maintenance of data platforms master data management systems reference data management metadata management frameworks and data quality projects.
Implement technologies processes and procedures in support of the Data Management program workstreams to support strategies to increase data transparency throughout the enterprise while protecting against the misuse of data.
- Provide hands on direction for theimplementation of Data Services including data quality metadata management master data managementand data platforms.
Provide directions to a team of data engineers and specialists in building integrations and transformations working collaboratively with business data teams.
Ensure that data technology stack implementations meetstrict security privacy and quality assurance requirements.
Collaborate with the VP of Data Services in the development of strategies for the management of data quality metadata management master data management and data platforms and direct the implementation of the resulting technical stack.
Drive the development of corporate data platform that enables Analytics Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to gain additional insights.

- A Bachelors Degreein Computer Science or related discipline
- 8-12 years of experiencein data
- 7 yearsdirecting multiple teams in providing technical solutions to meet business requirements.
In accordance with applicable law Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate if hired in New York City is $195000 - $225000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidates starting salary will be based on a number of permissible non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skills and experience training certifications and education.
