The Arizona Game and Fish Department is currently seeking a Customer Development and Engagement Director that is strategic data-driven and people-focused. This role is critical to collect manage and use customer data to strengthen engagement and retention across a diverse portfolio of programs in the Information Education and Wildlife Recreation Division including wildlife viewing hunting and angling and shooting addition to leading customer data and engagement strategy this position will supervise a team of project managers responsible for executing marketing and outreach initiatives and developing strategies to support revenue goals in alignment with programmatic business plans and objectives.

Job Duties:

Major responsibilities will include:

- Customer Data Strategy & Standardization - Develop and implement standardized protocols for customer data collection across Information Education and Wildlife Recreation Division programs. Identify and address gaps in existing data collection and systems to support deeper customer insight. Ensure data practices are compliant consistent and aligned with strategic goals. Research and recommend tools to improve customer engagement retention and data integration (e.g. CRM systems automation platforms analytics tools). Guides the integration of new technologies in collaboration with internal stakeholders and other AZGFD divisions that align with business goals.

- Customer Engagement & Audience Growth - Design and oversee creative customer engagement strategies to improve participant experience and foster loyalty across program areas. Develop targeted engagement initiatives based on data insights and audience behavior. Expand both traditional and non-traditional customer bases through innovative marketing and outreach strategies. Identify underserved audiences and recommend engagement tactics to grow participation in all programs.

- Revenue Strategy & Business Alignment - Develop and implement short- and long-term revenue goals in alignment with IERD programmatic business plans and department revenue targets. Monitor effectiveness of marketing and engagement efforts in driving revenue. Collaborate with program leads to finalize and update business plans as needed.

- Team Supervision & Project Oversight - Supervise and mentor a team of project managers responsible for planning and executing marketing and outreach initiatives. Provide guidance feedback and performance evaluation.

- Research & Data Informed Strategy - Recommend when and how to conduct surveys or research to guide decision-making. Collaborate on survey design data analysis and translating insights into actionable strategies.

- Other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

The candidate will have knowledge of/in: managing customer data including familiarity with CRM systems analytics platforms and data privacy regulations. Understanding of customer engagement principles audience segmentation and both traditional and digital marketing strategies. Knowledge of revenue generation models forecasting team leadership performance management project planning workflow coordination Arizonas wildlife species habitats and geography.

The candidate must have skill in: strategic planning proficiency in interpreting complex data sets strong written and verbal communication skills. Skill in supervising and mentoring staff strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

The candidate must be able to create consistent data collection protocols and improve data integrity across diverse programs. Ability to track marketing performance and make recommendations. Ability to prioritize competing demands and oversee multiple projects with varying timelines. Ability to maintain a focus on customer needs while aligning initiatives with broader organizational objectives.

Selective Preference(s):

The preferred candidate will have at least five (5) years of experience serving in customer engagement marketing strategy or business development with a focus on data-driven decision making and experience leading large-scale projects or cross-functional teams. The preferred candidate will have a bachelors degree in business administration marketing communications data analytics or related field.
