THIS IS A TEMPORARY PART-TIME GRANT-FUNDED POSITION FUNDED UNTIL 07/31/2026 (20 HOURS PER WEEK)
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Research Technician 2 conducts key analyses including: comparing protein and mRNA expression at the single-cell level constructing regulatory networks to identify master regulators and prioritizing subnetworks and target genes for experimental validation.
Responsibilities- Analyzes transcriptional changes using single-cell transcriptomic data derived from mouse brain tissues treated with pre-formed fibrils (PFF) or phosphate-buffered saline (PBS).
- Processes interprets and visualizes gene expression data to identify molecular alterations associated with neurodegeneration.
- Applies bioinformatics tools and pipelines to uncover key regulatory genes and pathways contributing to a deeper understanding of disease mechanisms.
- Integrates single-cell transcriptomic data with cell-type-specific proteomics data to uncover coordinated molecular changes across transcript and protein levels.
- Utilizes computational tools to generate biologically meaningful insights.
- Contributes to manuscript preparation.
- Assists with data management tasks.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:Bachelors Degree.(TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: ORa combination of college coursework and work experience to equal four (4) years.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Programming skills in languages such as Python or R.
- Knowledge of statistics machine learning and data mining techniques.
- Experience in the analysis of large datasets.
