DescriptionSalary Range: $55000 - $65000
The HR Generalist will be a member of the UT System Administration (UTSA) HR team and will perform a broad range of system-wide professional-level HR duties. The HR Generalist works closely with all members of the System Human Resources team carrying out both administrative and strategic responsibilities in support of the departments commitment to service and excellence. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee records policy implementation recruiting and onboarding unemployment website management and UT Tower employee support.
ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities of the HR generalist may include but are not limited to the following
- Administers HR plans and procedures for UTSA employees and provides support to campuses as needed
- Addresses inquiries resolves issues and serves as a primary resource for HR questions and requests for
information - Completes special projects and conducts research on topics related to the effective and efficient HR practices
- Works collaboratively with HR leadership to proactively identify issues and recommend solutions
- Creates reports presentations and supporting documents
- Coordinates and supports meetings and special events
- Completes I-9s and verifications in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Assists with implementation and maintenance of the HR Assist feature in Oracle
- Works collaboratively with Communications and Marketing on website enhancements
- Assists users and troubleshoots on DASH ERP questions related to HR processes and practices
- Creates and maintains spreadsheets Teams sites and other data-sharing tools
- May assist in full-cycle recruiting for students temporary employees and others in DASH
- May assist with onboarding of new UTSA employees including management of the UT Tower parking and badge
processes
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess a bachelors degree in human resources or a related field. At least 2 years of professional work experience in the field of HR with a broad skillset and strong knowledge in all areas of human resources.
- Solid understanding of HR principles practices and employment laws
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- The ability to demonstrate a forward-thinking resourceful detail-oriented mindset
- Advanced knowledge in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office software including MS Word Excel and
- PowerPoint and ability to quickly learn new technologies
- The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications in the field of human resources (i.e. PHR SPHR etc.) are strongly preferred. Experience in higher education or a large complex environment and experience using Oracle HRIS systems are also preferred.
