Job Summary

Heres What You Need

Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred

Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required

BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

ACLS within 90 days of hire

CPI Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire

1-year experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required

2-years experience as a clinical nurse in an Acute care setting and Med surg Tele preferred.

What You Will Do

The Charge Nurse

will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team

support and actively participate in shared governance/councils

committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development.

evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift by offering staff guidance and support maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.

Work hours: PRN 7:00 pm 7:00 am Rotating Weekends and Holidays

Department highlights:

Provides Leadership and clinical expertise to support the Med surg Tele unit (38 bed unit). Our unit cares for general med/surg with pulmonary infections renal wounds as well as patients with cardiac drips chest tubes and TR bands. Fun and great unit to work on if you are looking to learn grow your leadership skills and work with outstanding colleagues. Energetic unit who likes to celebrate and provide compassionate care to our patients and make them feel like family.
