Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) CWR

Hours per Week: 36
Shift: 312 Hours (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Weekends/Holidays: Every other weekend or as needed; holidays required
On-Call: Minimum once weekly

Job Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. This role supports patient care for individuals with cardiopulmonary deficiencies in an acute care setting.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction for the education treatment management diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

• Assist with intubations and perform ventilator setup and management.

• Gather relevant clinical information to appropriately evaluate and address patient needs including disease education testing and interdisciplinary consultations.

• Build strong rapport with patients caregivers and healthcare team members to support optimal outcomes.

• Provide and document patient/caregiver education in a clear and understandable manner.

• Participate in additional duties and projects as assigned.

• Maintain adherence to organizational competencies and professional behavior standards.

• Physical requirements: Lift at least 5 lbs. push/pull at least 5 lbs. and stand a minimum of 1 hour per day.

• Maintain regular communication with medical staff and visitors.

Education Requirements

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Certifications & Licensure (Required)

• BLS (AHA)

• ACLS

• PALS

• Valid New Jersey Respiratory Care License

• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience.

• Proficiency in ventilator management and performing ABGs.

• Must be reliable and available for all scheduled days except those approved prior to offer.

• Cannot hold a secondary job that interferes with the scheduling requirements of this assignment.
