Your assignment
You will work on optimizing our global reuse decision process. Today this process relies on a complex algorithm that evaluates thousands of materials each month. It considers multiple reuse options such as direct reuse harvesting or repair and uses extensive master data. However human feedback remains essential. Your project will analyze this feedback loop and explore how machine learning can improve decision-making.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Analyze stakeholder feedback and identify patterns in reuse decisions.
- Develop a machine learning model to predict reuse decisions based on historical data.
- Compare the new model with the current algorithm and highlight key differences.
- Provide insights into decision drivers and discrepancy factors.
- Recommend improvements for future reuse decision-making processes.
- Document findings and present results to the team.
- Collaborate with planners data analysts and business consultants to implement solutions.
This is a masters apprentice or a thesis internship for a minimum of 6 months 5 days per week (4 days on-site). The start date of this internship is as of
Your profile
To be suitable for the internship you:
- Are pursuing a masters degree in operations management and logistics industrial engineering data science or software engineering.
- Have strong programming skills in Python including machine learning libraries.
- Preferably have experience with SQL and analytics tools such as Databricks Power BI or Spotfire.
- Are analytical proactive and comfortable working with large datasets.
- Enjoy collaborating in a team and have a solution-oriented mindset.
Other requirements you need to meet:
You are enrolled at an educational institutefor the entire duration of the internship;
Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
