Job Summary
Summary:
A civil engineering firm is looking to hire a Senior Design Engineer in Jacksonville to support civil/site development projects with a focus on grading stormwater and utility-related design. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills who enjoys hands-on technical design work and is pursuing or already holds an EIT certification. Most work is private-sector focused with exposure to a wide range of commercial and site development project types.
Responsibilities:
* Perform civil engineering design tasks including conceptual planning detailed grading drainage design and site layout.
* Prepare stormwater management calculations such as basin routings channel design and inlet capacity calculations.
* Generate and review stormwater-related pipe profiles based on site constraints and project requirements.
* Develop Erosion & Sedimentation Pollution Control (E&SPC) and Post-Construction Stormwater
Management (PCSM) plans and reports.
* Contribute to technical aspects of regulatory permitting including PADEP Chapter 102 and 105 permits NPDES permits and general permitting needs.
* Prepare construction drawings design plans and cost estimates in accordance with company AutoCAD standards.
Qualifications
* Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred; candidates on the path to obtaining a PE are strongly encouraged.
* 2-4 years of civil engineering experience ideally in land development.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D with the ability to produce plans from concept through construction.
* Experience with grading stormwater management utilities hydrology/hydraulics and other site development components.
* Knowledge of local city county and state land-use processes and regulations.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Ability to read write and understand English for job-related communication.
