As a Sonographer 2 you will be at the forefront of cutting-edge medical care and state-of-the-art medical imaging resources at our Community Health Partner offices. Community Health Partners part of Community Health System helps primary care physicians and specialists manage their practices. Responsibilities
In your role you will:
- Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infection prevention sterilization and patient safety protocols policies and procedures.
- Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information. Reload prior exams for comparison.
- Explain the examination process to the patient. Instruct and assist the patient in assuming the physical position for examination and throughout the procedure.
- Assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure - makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
- Select a transducer and adjust the equipment controls according to the organ to be examined the depth of field and other specifications of test. Move transducer over a specified area of the body and observe sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
- Fulfill prerequisite of American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) the American Registry of Radiologic
- Technologists (ARRT) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification required
Experience
- 1 year of clinical experience in diagnostic medical sonography and ability to demonstrate required competency required
- Demonstrated ability to perform all exams based on facility requirements required
Licenses and Certifications
- BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
Department Specific Requirements
- General Sonographer in Medical Imaging
- One of the following is required
- RDMS(AB) - ARDMS RDMS Abdomen
- RDMS(OB) - ARDMS RDMS OB/GYN
- RVT - ARDMS Registered Vascular Tech
- ARRT(S) - ARRT Sonography
- ARRT(VS) - ARRT Vascular Sonography
- RVS - CCI Registered Vascular Specialist
