Job Summary

Arrow Service team continues to grow into the Dickinson area and were looking for a Drywall Finisher/Painter to join our Restoration Reconstruction Team!

Arrow Service Team is based out of Bismarck ND and is the leader in the disaster restoration industry in North Dakota. We have built our heritage one project at a time establishing a reputation for performance integrity and responsibility among customers and carriers alike. If you take pride in your finished work and work well in a team environment this is the job for you! We handle a wide variety of restoration jobs. What makes our industry unique is that our line of work primarily entails restoring an existing property to its pre-state/pre loss condition or better. If you are a seasoned veteran you wont get bored with the many different projects we handle on a daily basis.


Arrow provides and assigns company vehicles (typically a box truck or van) for travel to/from jobsites. Most power tools hand tools and necessary equipment are provided. Basic individual hand tools (as an alternative personal preference) are employee provided.


Training is fully paid and on-the-job with our experienced team. We have a team of skilled teammates ready to share their diverse knowledge skills and tricks of the trade. Expected core training is 2 to 3 weeks but depends on overall progress. Training will take place more so in Bismarck in the early phases and will gravitate back to Dickinson. Hotel room will be paid by Arrow and a per diem will be provided while training in Bismarck.


In this role youll be learning something new every day. Training and skill development is always ongoing in this industry. Over the course of time you will become well versed in this trade making you even more valuable.

Primary Job Responsibilities (drywall finishing):

  • Install drywall sheets and/or patches to damaged areas.
  • Joining drywall panels using tape and joint compound.
  • Layering joint/mud compound with trowels to create a flat surface.
  • Repairing cracks and any other damage to the drywall panels.
  • Sanding down rough areas on the wall to create a smooth surface.
  • Concealing any imperfections or exposed irregularities in the drywall surface.
  • Skimming the surface with a final layer of joint compound in preparation for finishing work.
  • Blending and applying textures.
  • Manage and maintain required equipment for jobs and vehicle inventory.
  • Ensuring that all equipment and materials are used safely and effectively.


Primary Job Responsibilities (painting):

  • Paint interior (most often) and exterior areas of residential and commercial buildings.
  • Brushing rolling and spraying depending on job and material (for example: walls trim doors and jambs cabinets etc.).
  • Mask fill holes and sand out imperfections.
  • Prep wood surfaces for finishing applying stains and other coatings.
  • Complete jobs utilizing appropriate finishes and applications in adherence to the Project Managers instructions and workorder.
  • Cleaning of areas supplies tools and equipment at the completion of theproject.
  • Manage and maintain required equipment for jobs and vehicle inventory.
  • Ensuring that all equipment and materials are used safely and effectively.

    Other duties (as needed) include:

    • Assisting other reconstruction specialists as needed in our Reconstruction Demolition and/or Mitigation departments.

    Experience and Skills:

    • Combination of drywall finishing and painting experience (2 years preferred but willing to train the right person).
    • Individual must be familiar with aspects of the tools materials and methods used in drywall and ceiling finishing patching taping and texturing.
    • Knowledge of painting and staining methods tools materials and how to select mix and apply.
    • Ability to complete projects in a timely manner with or without supervision.
    • Ability to problem solve and adapt to unexpected changes or challenges.
    • Strong attention to detail precision and overall craftsmanshift/quality.
    • Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team setting.
    • Basic math skills.
    • Ability to be professional act with integrity and have the ability to show empathy.

    Physical Demands:

    • Lift (constantly) 5-10 lbs. lift (frequently) 10-40 lbs.
    • May involve significant stand/walk/ push/pull.
    • Occasional climbing (ladders scaffolding etc.) balancing crouching frequent stooping reaching kneeling and handling.
    • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights (occasionally).
    • Exposure to weather conditions with temperatures ranging from mild to moderate cold/heat. Most jobs are indoors (climate controlled).
    • Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to loud (occasional to frequent).


    Pay:

    • Starting pay is negotiable and largely depends on experience diversity of skillsets industry knowledge and ability. (DOE)
    • 90-day review (potential for wage adjustment).
    • Annual reviews scheduled thereafter within department review cycle (potential for wage adjustment if applicable).
    • On-call pay (time and a half) and bonus (once deemed eligible to participate per occurrence and within a rotating schedule).

    Schedule:

    • 42 to 45 hours per week Monday through Friday typically 7:30am through 5pm. Occasional 6:30am starts to accommodate any travel distance.
    • Occasional over-nights with hotel room paid and per diem provided.
    • Rotating on-call schedule for any afterhours (after 5pm) emergencies.


    Age Requirement:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age.


    Education:

    • High school or equivalent.


    License/Certification:

    • Valid and current Drivers License (legal ability to drive is required).
    • Reliable transportation for getting to and from the office/shop.
