The Student Systems team within the Registrar & Student Services portfolio is recruiting for two leadership positions that play a key role in advancing UNSWs digital student ecosystem:
- Manager Student Systems (Core Applications)
Leads the custodianship development and support of the Universitys core student information systems and related applications.
Ensures system stability compliance and continuous improvement across critical student administration platforms.
- Manager Student Systems (Projects)
Leads the delivery of strategic student systems projects translating business priorities into actionable outcomes.
Oversees planning governance and benefit realisation to ensure initiatives deliver sustainable student-centred change.
Both rolesare permanent full time. Theysit within the Student Systems Projects & Innovation (SSaP) unit and work collaborativelyacross the broader Student Systems teamwith IT academic divisions and governance forums to deliver technology and process improvements that enhance the student and staff experience. Eachreportto its respective Senior Lead (Core Applications or Projects) and has up to eight direct reports.
Core Responsibilities Summary
Manager Student Systems (Core Applications)
- Lead the delivery maintenance and improvement of UNSWs core student systems.
- Oversee governance backlog management and prioritisation to support system stability and compliance.
- Provideexpert advice on system capability limitations and future planning.
- Build team capability and drive user-centred service enhancements.
- Supporting the effective delivery and transition of new/uplifted capabilities to BAU
Manager Student Systems (Projects)
- Lead the planning and execution of approved student systems projects ensuring strategic alignment and benefit realisation.
- Oversee business analysis process design and delivery of student-centred solutions.
- Play a key role in early project shapingsupporting business cases benefits planning risk assessment process design and requirements gathering to set projects up for success
- Support effective project governance risk management and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop team capability and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
The Manager Student Systems (Projects) isnot a project management role; it functions as a Business Lead/Product Owner who works within the project management structure to ensure effective delivery.

About You
You are a collaborative leader with a passion for delivering digital solutions that enhance the student experience. You bring a mix of strategic insight operational discipline and people both roles you will have:
- Demonstratedexperience in project program or systems management
- Experience leading teams responsible for enterprise-scale systems or projects in a complex organisation
- Proven ability to deliver improvements through stakeholder consultation and data-informed decision-making
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with confidence influencing senior leaders and governance forums
- Vendor management and performance reporting experience with sound analytical and problem-solving skills
- A collaborative leadership style aligned with UNSWsvalues
- Knowledge of student administration processes and systems across the full academic student lifecycle is highly desirable
In addition:
- For the Core Applications roleanunderstanding of enterprise system operations technical governance and data compliance (e.g. TEQSA ESOS) ideally with experience in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or equivalentwould be highly desirable
- For the Projects role you will bringdemonstratedexperience in project management business analysis process mapping and delivering change or digital transformation within a higher education or comparable environment
