Job Summary

General Summary of Position:

The University of Massachusetts Lowell seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Coordinator for Nuclear Energy Programs to support the operations of the programs. Reporting to the Institute Director this position will provide logistical operational and administrative support for ongoing programs stakeholder meetings and outreach activities.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing schedules supporting events maintaining records and ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of a high-impact multi-institutional initiative in nuclear energy and workforce development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide logistical and administrative support for meetings workshops and events related to the Nuclear Energy Roadmap.
  • Coordinate calendars travel arrangements reimbursements and documentation for Institute activities.
  • Assist in maintaining databases of partners sponsors and participants.
  • Support project reporting and basic budget tracking under the guidance of the Director.
  • Assist with preparation of communication materials newsletters and web updates.
  • Help coordinate student interns and part-time assistants supporting Institute operations.
  • Provide clerical assistance for proposal submission and grant documentation.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for general inquiries related to nuclear programs.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 13 years of experience in office administration coordination or program support. High school graduate or GED/equivalent with demonstrated additional experience (minimum 5 years) may be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Google Workspace and online meeting tools (Zoom Teams).

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience in higher education research administration or energy-related programs.
  • Familiarity with basic budget tracking and event coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Only current UML Employees within the Grants & Contracts (MTA/GRACE) bargaining unit will be considered during the first 10 business days of the posting. All other candidates will be considered after that period.

This is a full-time benefited Grants & Contracts (MTA/GRACE) bargaining-unit position Grade P15 with salary range minimum: $54217 and 25th quartile of $61672 and midpoint of $69126.

This is a one-year term appointment contingent upon funding with the potential for renewal based on performance and organizational need.

This is a full-time benefited position. Some weekend and after-hours work may be required for meetings and event support. Limited travel (mainly in-state day trips) is anticipated.
