Description

USEMCO Inc. is seeking a Stockroom Attendant to identify store inventory and disburse mechanical equipment and components.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Order sufficient quantities of consumable mechanical equipment and components to maintain the appropriate stock inventory of mechanical parts. Check inventory of mechanical parts and order items in low supply at prescribed order points.
  • Unload all delivery trucks with the exception of steel deliveries employing a forklift or other material handling equipment.
  • Check in parts received verifying goods received against purchase orders or receiving slips as to identification type and part number. Check for shipping damage and complete receiving reports as required.
  • Review travelers and disburse mechanical components to manufacturing areas.
  • Prepare and pack various parts for shipment.
  • Place on skid and crate aluminum hatches manholes and other large items prior to shipment. Tar hatch bottoms and install name plates as required.
  • Prepare written documentation related to shipping such as bills of lading and shipping reports.
  • Perform record keeping relating to inventory.
  • Scan in and out of labor collection software as required to track work hours.
  • Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Requires education generally equivalent to 4 years of high school and 1-year related experience in receiving and stock keeping procedures.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and written materials relating to receiving stock keeping and safety procedures.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add subtract multiply and divide to perform calculations relating to receiving and store keeping operations.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with simple problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The employee must maintain order in the mechanical stock keeping area. The employee must possess the ability to operate a wide variety of equipment such as hand tools a forklift computer terminal and a radial arm saw.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently works in proximity to airborne fumes or particles. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in proximity to toxic or caustic chemicals and near sources of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


PROTECTIVE CLOTHING REQUIRED: The employee must wear safety glasses safety shoes and leather gloves or other material handling gloves as required.
