We are seeking a skilled Storage and Backup Operator/Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the day-to-day operation of enterprise-level storage and backup solutionsparticularly NetApp storage systems and Commvault backup platformsalong with operational expertise in Nagios/Zabbix for monitoring and alerting.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing and monitoring NetApp storage systems to ensure optimal performance reliability and scalability
- Administering Commvault backup and recovery solutions to ensure consistent and accurate data protection
- Operating monitoring and troubleshooting Fibre Channel switches within the SAN infrastructure ensuring stable connectivity between storage arrays and servers
- Operating and maintaining the Nagios and Zabbix monitoring systems to track infrastructure health performance metrics and alerts
- Performing routine storage performance tuning system health checks and backup job validation; updating backup plans based on business needs
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to storage performance data access and backup failures; escalating tickets to 2nd level support vendors or management as needed
- Responding to and resolving storage backup and system alerts raised through monitoring tools
- Preparing and maintaining documentation related to system configurations backup schedules and recovery procedures
- Providing tier-2/3 support for storage and backup-related incidents
- Staying updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices in storage and backup management
Requirements- Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Familiarity with:
a. System administration (MS Windows Linux)
b. Hardware virtualization - Familiarity with IP networking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a multi-vendor environment
- Flexibility and willingness to participate in non-standard working-time models (e.g. on-call/standby)
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
Desired Skills
- Experience in a Service Provider environment
- Network and systems administration experience
- Previous experience with NetApp storage systems (installation configuration monitoring troubleshooting)
- Previous experience with Commvault backup and recovery solutions (installation configuration troubleshooting)
- Familiarity with Nagios for system monitoring alerting and performance tracking
- Understanding of storage protocols (FCP iSCSI NFS CIFS etc.) and SAN/NAS environments
- Basic understanding of data protection encryption and compliance standards

- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Ability to prioritize technical issues
- Strong troubleshooting analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
