Wayman Education is recruiting a School Business Manager for a busy school in Tower Hamlets. The successful School Business Manager will prepare annual budgets produce monthly management accounts oversee payroll and pensions and manage procurement and contract arrangements. The School Business Manager will also be responsible for health & safety premises and line-management of administrative and site staff. You will be expected to begin in January 2026 and to support the schools budget-setting and operational planning from January 2026.

The Role
The School Business Manager will: prepare budgets and management accounts; manage cashflow and supplier contracts; ensure payroll and pensions are processed accurately; lead audit preparations; and provide clear financial insight to governors and senior leaders. The appointed School Business Manager will be based in Tower Hamlets and will be expected to start in January 2026 supporting strategic decision-making from January 2026.
Person specification for the School Business Manager:
Qualified accountant or proven track record as a School Business Manager.
Strong experience in budgeting payroll and financial reporting as the School Business Manager.
Excellent leadership communication and organisational skills; able to start January 2026 in Tower Hamlets.
