Job Description Summary:

The X-Ray Technologist will provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services at Providence St. Vincent. This role requires strong competency in a broad range of radiologic procedures across inpatient outpatient ED OR and mobile settings. Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in a large facility hospital comparable to Providence St. Vincent with preference for those who have worked in teaching or community hospital environments. First-time travelers are accepted. On-call is required.

Block scheduling is required for this assignment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform general radiographic imaging procedures including abdomen chest spine extremities and thorax studies.

  • Operate fluoroscopy equipment (preferred) for GI UGI and contrast studies.

  • Perform mobile/portable imaging including portable chest and abdomen.

  • Support OR cases using C-arm.

  • Ensure accurate imaging documentation and workflow within PACS.

  • Collaborate with ED inpatient units OR NICU/PICU (if within scope) and outpatient settings.

  • Maintain safety standards and radiation protection protocols.

  • Participate in on-call rotation (3 shifts/month) as required.

  • Work Tuesday Friday (8am 6:30pm) with required block schedule.

Key Requirements:
  • 1 year of X-Ray Tech experience in a large facility hospital similar to Providence St. Vincent strict requirement.

  • Must be comfortable working in adult acute outpatient emergency OR and portable/mobile environments.

  • Must be able to perform a wide variety of imaging studies across multiple body regions.

  • On-call required: 3 shifts per month.

  • No weekends required.

  • No approved 48-hour schedules.

  • Must meet all radiation safety and imaging quality standards.

  • Teaching or community hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications Education:
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Experience:
  • Minimum: 1 year X-Ray Tech experience in a large hospital system similar to Providence St. Vincent.

  • First-time travelers accepted.

License / Certifications:
  • ARRT (R) Required

  • BLS Required

  • State Radiologic Technologist License Required (Oregon)

  • Fluoroscopy Permit Preferred

Skills: Imaging Procedures:
  • Abdomen (KUB upright decubitus)

  • Chest (routine)

  • Upper/lower extremities

  • Spine: cervical thoracic lumbar

  • Pelvis

  • Mobile/portable imaging

  • C-arm procedures (OR)

  • Enema studies (preferred: air/single contrast)

  • Fluoroscopy studies (preferred: UGI esophagus)
