As aTraveling HVAC Controls - Field Service Technicianhere at Honeywell you will be accountable for providing technical assistance and service to our customers in the HVAC industry. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful installation maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC control systems. Your expertise and dedication to customer satisfaction will contribute to the efficiency comfort and safety of our customers buildings (commercial sites). In this role you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by delivering exceptional service and assistance to our customers in the HVAC controls industry
You will report directly to ourField Service Supervisor and travel up to 70% to the customer sites in Detroit MI and outside the region. During the first 90-180 days you may travel to other areas for training and will receive a vehicle and a travel and expense card for business use.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Commission start up and tune control systemsto meet customer specifications and job requirements.
- Install configure and test pre-engineered software for control systems OR this instead: Installandtroubleshootpre-engineered software andhardware checkoutcontrol systems and start-ups and commission systems according to customer requirements and job specifications.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with efficiency and expertise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Ensure adherence to company policies procedures and regulatory standards.
- Report incidents near misses and improvement opportunities through the SOS system.
- Perform open systems and 3rd party integrations andcollaboratewith other vendors of different protocols.
- Ensure that theconfiguration managementpolicy is followed which involves back- up of all changes on an on-going basis duringinstallationand final archiving of Honeywellshardwareand software on Honeywell Server.
- Demonstrate system and conduct customer training for all functions
- Support sales activities by presenting integrated/networked solutions and retro fit opportunities when warranted.
- Travel up to 70% in the assigned territories.
QualificationsMUST HAVE
- 2 years experience in building controls and automation including troubleshooting diagnosis and repair of emergency management systems exposure to programming PC usage and general networking principles.
- Working knowledge of BACnet control systems
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with a keen attention to detail in diagnosing and resolving issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
WE VALUE
- Tridium Niagara 4 or Niagara AX experience (or willing to get certified)
- Honeywell ComfortPoint Open or Compatible Competitor control software system knowledge
- 2 years of experience incommercial HVAC controls field service with a solid track record in installation maintenance and repair.
- Associates or Certifications from a Vocational or Trades College.
- Strong customer focus and ability to build and maintain relationships
