This position primarily serves as aCertified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA)or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) providing direct support to the provider and ensuring high-quality patient care. The role may also includeReferral Specialistresponsibilities when the provider is not in the office to help maintain smooth clinic operations.

What Youll Do:

  • Triage and prepare patients for medical examinations. Administer medications perform lab testing and assist with procedures. Maintain clean and well-stocked treatment areas. Assist with referrals preauthorizations and scheduling when needed. Adhere to all HCHD safety security and compliance standards
  • Support nursing and front office staff as required
  • Communicate professionally with patients and staff while maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Educate and counsel patients on treatments medications and testing
  • Record and update patient history medications and vital signs in the EMR


Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
  • CurrentCMA certification
  • CurrentLVN license
  • CurrentBLS certification
  • ValidTexas drivers license

Preferred:

  • 1 year clinical experience
  • Experience with billing coding or insurance preauthorization
  • Familiarity witheClinicalWorksor other EHR software


Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication organizational and multitasking skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism


Physical Requirements:

  • Medium Work lift/carry up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently
  • Frequent standing walking bending and reaching
  • Manual dexterity to operate medical and office equipment
