JOB TITLE: Clinical Application Specialist
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: United Digestives Clinical Application Specialist is a member of the Operations Administration Team focused on providing a high degree of application support and service to providers and team members at UD specifically as it relates to the implementation training and maintenance of clinical software (e.g. eClinicalWorks ProVation & Orchard) used by the practice.
REPORTS TO: Senior Manager of Clinical Applications
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for front-end maintenance and configuration of clinical software.
  • Responsible for analyzing operational workflows and processes involving clinical software and working with operational teams and end users to implement changes when necessary.
  • Responsible for developing training materials and programs for clinical software as well as leading end-user training.
  • Collaborates with leadership teams on clinical applications projects and analysis.
  • Responsible for data reporting related to clinical software including but not limited to government reporting.
  • Acts as an escalation point for support issues involving clinical software.
  • Supervises or participates in projects related to clinical software.
  • Follows and enforces UD Policies and Procedures.
  • Answers emails and voicemails and returns calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards.
  • Abides by and promotes HIPAA compliance; maintains strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information.
  • Performs any other duties and/or special tasks as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED required; two years of healthcare experience implementing & supporting eCW and utilizing eCW reporting preferred. Experience developing software training materials and leading software training programs; experience with governmental healthcare regulations including HIPAA and Meaningful Use are preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel involving data analysis and pivot tables are required.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Clinical Application Specialist must have or be able to:
  • Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills.
  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Plan prioritize and complete multiple tasks as delegated.
  • Work under pressure; assess respond to and communicate issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain composure and set a professional example for coworkers.
  • Communicate clearly with patients clients and coworkers through the telephone email and in-person.
  • Build positive working relationships with leadership team members and Providers.
  • Interpret and apply appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Be reliable punctual and able to work independently.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Light travel early morning late evening and weekend hours will be required as busines needs dictate.
