ICI RDI is seeking two (2) reporters to join the Dabord linfo team in Montreal.


These are permanent part-time positions following a three(3)-day schedule of 9.5 hours per shift.


Your role


As a reporter based in Montreal you will be responsible for covering current events and issues and delivering content live on air.


For one of the roles you will be required to present your content in-studio on the video wall incorporating visual and graphic elements. You must be skilled at and comfortable delivering content in this environment and producing material under tight deadlines.


The second reporter position involves going out in the field to gather information and deliver live hits. You must report news stories with clarity and accuracy in compliance with Journalistic Standards and Practices (JSP) and show creativity and originality in generating story ideas and treatments including for our digital platforms.


Please note that the anticipated assignments involve an irregular schedule specifically very early mornings on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays. Working hours are subject to change based on operational requirements.

Your profile:


Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree or equivalent

  • Three (3) years journalism experience

  • One (1) years experience reporting live for television is an asset


Skills:


  • Relevant experience preparing and delivering visual and graphic-based content (wall) and reporting live

  • Proven ability in the field and knowledge of newsroom production operations

  • Extensive general knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of Montreal provincial and national affairs

  • Recognized ability to simplify and deliver complex content

  • Excellent attitude and work ethic

  • Interest in and knack for digital media is an asset

  • Ability to thrive in a team environment while being a resourceful self-starter

  • Ability to plan organize and co-ordinate your day-to-day work so as to meet tight deadlines

  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • Enterprising and inquisitive approach to fact-gathering

  • Availability and willingness to work irregular hours and to travel

  • Solid command of spoken and written French (working language) with outstanding spelling and grammar

  • Good knowledge of English is an asset

  • Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canadas mandate and Journalistic Standards and Practices


Additional requirements:

  • Valid drivers licence as well as a driving record that meets the minimum requirements of CBC/Radio-Canadas insurance company
