Description
The Communications Specialist plays an essential role in supporting and elevating Georgia Military Colleges office of Advancements mission vision and strategic priorities through compelling digital and print communications. This position produces high-quality multimedia content and provides critical support for Advancement events through the Office of Communications. Though this role works with the Communications team the position will be physically housed in Advancement to support day-to-day Communications-related duties.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the Advancement teams digital communication needs by creating invitations marketing assets donor engagement materials and digital campaigns that align with institutional goals and brand standards.
- Serve as lead photographer and videographer for Advancement events capturing and curating visual content that highlights the GMC experience and supports campaign storytelling.
- Maintain and update the Advancement section of the GMC website and support Advancement-related social media platforms with timely engaging and mission-driven content.
- Research write and edit compelling stories that showcase GMC students alumni donors faculty and staff for use in publications newsletters and marketing campaigns.
- Assist with quick-turn graphic design needs collaborate on high-quality messaging for Advancement initiatives and major events and support broader institutional communications priorities as needed.
- Support the Communications team with institutional photography videography and event coverage as needed to ensure consistent high-quality content across departments.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Associates Degree
- Must demonstrate some level of knowledge for writing and social media.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills; basic proficiency in photography videography and social media knowledge; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication or equivalent
- Professional experience in writing social media management photography and videography
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in photography videography and social media management to include content creation schedule; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines; familiarity with design and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop InDesign Premiere Pro or similar).
