| Job Description: | About the Department: This is a pivotal and exciting moment for the profession and the department. The University of Florida (UF) is a leading public land-grant research university currently ranked 7th among all U.S. public universities by U.S. News & World Report. The Department of Interior Design is housed within the College of Design Construction & Planning (DCP) with allied programs of Architecture Construction Management Historic Preservation Landscape Architecture Sustainability in the Built Environment and Urban & Regional Planning. Our department is home to a vibrant faculty whose various areas of expertise advance the field of human-centered design. We are widely recognized in academia professional practice and industry for our integrated approachone that combines creative exploration with evidence-based inquiry across our teaching research and outreach efforts. Our graduates from bachelors to doctoral levels are well prepared to become leaders in the field. Candidates who can leverage the colleges new Collaboratory facilityincluding advanced digital fabrication labs and research spaces for lighting materials acoustics robotics digital twins and VRinto their research and teaching are also desirable. Additionally the Department of Interior Design is exploring the ethical and effective integration of emerging AI tools into the curriculum making AI expertise desirable. |
