Position Description:
Responsible for direction and instruction of competitive progressive strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports. Coordinate and implement plan and manage all in-season and out-of-season player strength conditioning including both team and individual programming.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to coaches when planning pre-game and post-game meals and consult with coaching staff regarding seasonal nutrition.
- Coordinate rehabilitation training with Sports Medicine staff.
- Assist coaches with choosing training programs outside of Valpo Athletics to ensure health and safety of student-athletes and verify proper certifications.
- Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of all athletic weight rooms and all equipment within this space.
- Coordinate team equipment purchases to ensure proper management of university budgets.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelors Degree and/or Masters Degree
- 2 years of previous strength coaching experience
- Collegiate-level experience preferred
Other Qualifications:
- NSCA CSCS and/or CSCCa
- CPR/AED Certification
