Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Behavior Assistant Special Educationfor an exciting Travel or Local job inAshburn VA.

Responsibilities:

Support classroom teachers and special education staff in implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and individualized student supports.
Monitor record and report student behavior data as directed by supervising staff or BCBA.
Assist in de-escalation and crisis intervention following established protocols.
Reinforce positive behavioral supports and maintain a structured learning environment.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent application of behavioral and instructional strategies.
Provide direct support to students in academic social and behavioral skill development.
Participate in staff meetings professional development and supervision sessions as required.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school district and special education policies.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associates or Bachelors degree in Psychology Education Special Education or a related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience working with students with behavioral or developmental needs in educational or clinical settings.
Experience in special education or behavioral support roles highly preferred.

Certifications & Licenses:

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred.
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or equivalent behavioral safety training preferred.
Valid Drivers License (for traveling between schools).

Preferred Skills:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changing environments and student needs.
Advanced behavioral training or instructional support experience is a plus.
