Guaranteed Hours:40 Hrs/week
Pay:$27/hour
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Behavior Assistant Special Educationfor an exciting Travel or Local job inAshburn VA.
Responsibilities:
- Support classroom teachers and special education staff in implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and individualized student supports.
- Monitor record and report student behavior data as directed by supervising staff or BCBA.
- Assist in de-escalation and crisis intervention following established protocols.
- Reinforce positive behavioral supports and maintain a structured learning environment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent application of behavioral and instructional strategies.
- Provide direct support to students in academic social and behavioral skill development.
- Participate in staff meetings professional development and supervision sessions as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school district and special education policies.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Psychology Education Special Education or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with students with behavioral or developmental needs in educational or clinical settings.
- Experience in special education or behavioral support roles highly preferred.
Certifications & Licenses:
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or equivalent behavioral safety training preferred.
- Valid Drivers License (for traveling between schools).
Preferred Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and student needs.
- Advanced behavioral training or instructional support experience is a plus.
