Clinic Nurse - Colon & Rectal Surgery

***$2000 Sign On Bonus - Must Meet Eligibility***

Shift Details:

40 hrs/wk

Monday - Friday

8am - 5pm

Position Highlight:

Join a dynamic and essential team where you will play a vital role in supporting high-quality and efficient care. Colon and Rectal Surgery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate nurse to join our team. You will be working alongside a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team of Colorectal Surgeons APPs and Nurse Case Managers. Our team treats individuals facing challenges such as Colon or rectal cancer diverticulitis inflammatory bowel disease fistulas hemorrhoids and moreproviding care thats personalized innovative and built around collaboration.

In this specialized role you will:

  • Triage patient messages and phone calls
  • Schedule and arrange diagnostic workups
  • Assist with FMLA and disability paperwork
  • Facilitate referrals to appropriate providers
  • Coordinate patient care from pre-authorization and scheduling to post procedure follow-up.
  • Assist with managing post-op complications
  • Conduct behind-the-scenes patient care (non-face-to-face)
  • Perform additional record reviews

Job Description:

Provide and coordinate delivery of clinical resources to assure safe high quality patient care and ensure continuity of care. Perform duties in an environment of care where the needs of a patient are short term non-acute and non-life threatening.

Required Qualifications:
Associates in nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required.

Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
Ability to demonstrate initiative teamwork and flexibility required.
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) department dependent required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Based on position prior experience in patient nursing specialty/primary care clinic and/or telephonics preferred.
Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) or Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word PowerPoint and Excel preferred.
Proficient with use of email applications preferred.
Experience with EPIC or other electronic medical records preferred.

Specific to the Medical Call Center department; multi-state license preferred.
