ABOUT THE ROLE
As aLead Fire Alarm TechnicianatHoneywell you will be at the forefront of protecting lives and property by ensuring the performance and reliability of critical fire alarm and life safety systems. You will lead the programming troubleshooting maintenance and inspection of cutting-edge fire detection systems in complex environments. Your technical expertise will directly support the safety of our clients and the quality of our fire protection solutions.

You will work closely with project managers and other stakeholders ensuring systems are installed and maintained in accordance with industry codes and Honeywells high standards of excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travel to customer sites 85-90% of the time managing your own travel arrangements site coordination and reporting.
  • Program configure and test fire alarm panels including XLS-3000 and ZLS-140 systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on a wide range of fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure code compliance and operational readiness.
  • Interpret technical drawings specifications and fire codes to support system design and integration.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and successful project execution.
  • Mentor junior technicians and support continuous improvement across the team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and service records for compliance and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned per business needs.

Physical & Work Requirements:

  • Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs climb ladders work at heights and perform physical tasks related to installation and inspection of fire alarm systems.
  • Frequent standing walking bending kneeling and reaching during installation and inspection activities.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required to handle tools wiring and electronic test equipment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends holidays and extended shifts based on customer needs.
  • Typical assignments range from a few days to several months with company paid travel home 1 weekend per 8 weeks period.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Minimum of5 yearsof hands-on experience in fire protection or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience withfire alarm panel programming including new construction and retrofit projects.
  • NICET Level II or highercertification in Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA codes local fire regulations and industry standards.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel up to90%.
  • Ability to pass anFAA background check.

WE VALUE

  • Associates degree inFire Protection Technology Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Notifier manufacturer certification.
  • Proven ability totroubleshoot independentlyand provide mentorship to junior technicians.
  • Familiarity withHoneywell XLS-3000 and ZLS-140systems a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication time management and organizational skills.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS OVERVIEW

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas) Colorado Connecticut is $65400 - $81800. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California the annual base salary range is $71000 - $89800. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
