Principal Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex survey duties associated with construction stakeout and boundary topographic and as built surveys.

  • Research historic maps land records previous surveys and land title reports.

  • Complete boundary reductions boundary determinations and mapping/topographic field reductions in CAD/survey software.

  • Responsible to maintain and verify accuracy of project survey data and managing company standards survey database; Review survey production and final products processed data collection and field notes for quality control.

  • Proficiency with survey computations staking/control exhibits and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects.

  • Knowledge for the operation and assistance of operation of GPS equipment total stations levels data collectors and other survey equipment.

  • Supervise CAD Techs in preparing plans and plats describing in detail the surveys performed.

  • Advance the professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers.

  • Prepare proposals scopes of work schedules budgets and mentor and assist in training junior staff members.

  • Operate a company vehicle.

  • Observe safety and security procedures.


Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of land surveying operations computations principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans and construction documents.

  • Knowledge and ability to effectively deal with public and governmental agencies manage field crews and schedule equipment and supplies.

  • Proficient in on-site office operation office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques.

  • Advanced understanding of survey operations and identification of potential problems.

  • Proficient with AutoCAD C3D survey GPS MS Office software.

  • Advanced problem-solving techniques.

  • Proven people management and leadership capabilities.

  • Possesses oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients officials contractors coworkers and professionally represent IMEG.

  • Valid drivers license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check.

  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required.

  • 8 years of experience minimum required 12 preferred in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred.

  • Land Surveyor (LS) License required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit walk stand talk see hear and lift objects up to 25 pounds.

  • Occasionally required to drive kneel stoop crouch crawl reach with hands or arms and grasp or pull.

  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.

Salary Range $85000- $100000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant.
