Job Title: Team Leader Quality Inspection
Department: Quality Assurance
Position Summary
The Team Leader for Quality Inspectors is responsible for leading a team of inspectors to ensure product quality meets internal and external standards. This role combines hands-on inspection oversight with leadership coaching and continuous improvement responsibilities. The Team Leader will model safety accountability and a growth mindset while driving team performance and development.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Oversight
- Own the performance quality and results of the inspection team including quality notifications 8Ds and corrective actions.
- Ensure inspection processes comply with safety and quality standards.
- Empower inspectors to be problem solvers through questioning and coaching rather than direct answers.
- Monitor and model safe practices; escalate safety concerns to supervisors.
Team Leadership
- Create a team-oriented mentality and foster trust through consistent words and actions.
- Provide clear expectations and timely performance reviews.
- Address personnel issues promptly and constructively.
- Recognize and affirm team members who demonstrate commitment and excellence.
People Development
- Vet train equip empower monitor coach and hold team members accountable.
- Set development goals and create plans for personal and professional growth.
- Model continuous learning through networks training and internal programs.
Organizational Improvement
- Be a change agentbring initiatives to improve department processes and products.
- Practice LEAN principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Encourage cross-departmental collaboration and constructive criticism.
- Implement cross-training plans to build a flexible and resilient team.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 35 years of experience in quality inspection or manufacturing leadership.
- Strong understanding of quality systems inspection tools and regulatory standards.
- Proven ability to lead teams resolve conflicts and drive performance.
- Familiarity with LEAN 8D and corrective action processes.
- Excellent communication coaching and problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand walk and lift up to 50 Pounds.
- Use of close vision and depth perception for detailed inspections.
- Moderate noise level; eye protection required in shop areas.
