As a Materials Planner at ACT you will be a key contributor to our supply chain operations ensuring that the right materials are sourced stocked and available to meet production demands. You will work closely with suppliers production planners and inventory management to optimize flow reduce waste and drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage material plans based on production forecasts demand planning and inventory targets.
Coordinate with multiple suppliersqualify contract monitor performance and drive continuous improvement of supply chain partnerships.
Monitor inventory levels lead times reorder points safety stock and work to minimize excess or obsolete inventory while ensuring availability.
Collaborate with production planning engineering procurement and operations to align material availability with production schedules and launch timelines.
Generate and analyze supply-chain related data and KPIs (inventory turns supplier on-time delivery stock-outs lead-time variance) and present reports to leadership.
Execute supplier contracts and purchase orders: negotiate terms track commitments manage variances and escalate issues where necessary.
Identify supply chain risks (supplier disruptions material shortages logistical challenges) and develop contingency plans.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in material flow inventory accuracy ERP system utilization and process standardization.
Engage in cross-functional meetings and planning cadences to ensure synchronized operations across departments.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in a supply chain materials planning or inventory/demand planning role within a manufacturing or technical environment.
Demonstrable experience working with multiple suppliers and supplier contracts managing vendor performance and logistics relationships.
Solid working knowledge of forecasting inventory management demand planning and production planning concepts and systems.
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data identify trends and drive decisions.
Excellent communication collaboration and organizational skillscomfortable interacting with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems inventory management tools and ability to adapt to new systems/processes.
Proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with manufacturing metrics (e.g. inventory turns cycle time lead time) a plus.
