Job Overview:
As an Automotive Apprentice Technician at Christian Brothers Automotive you will be provided mentorship and training to learn how to perform diagnostic and mechanical repairs under the guidance of a Master Automotive Technician.
YOUR PRIMARY FOCUS WILL BE COMPLETING DIGITAL VEHICLE INSPECTIONS ON ALL VEHICLES THAT REQUIRE A DIAGNOSTIC. OUR LEAD TECHNICIAN IS OUR SOLE DIAGNOSTIC TECHNICIAN AND YOU WILL PARTNER WITH HIM TO CONDUCT THOROUGH DVIS FOR EACH VEHICLE.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work side by side with a certified Automotive Technician and will learn to repair engines steering and suspension automotive HVAC systems and much more
- Build experience and skills as an automotive mechanic across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles
- Perform State Inspections
- Perform routine maintenance procedures including oil changes tire rotations fluid flushes etc.
- Perform honest clear and complete multi-point vehicle inspections in service to our guests.
- Work as part of a team to solve technical problems quickly and effectively
- You will use your skills to get vehicles ready for our customers ensuring they are safe and reliable
- Follow and promote our high standards of safety cleanliness and organization
- Working together with other technicians you will solve problems meet deadlines and deliver great results
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- A strong motivation to learn a mechanical service career path
- Ability to learn and master digital vehicle inspections
- Attending an Automotive Program or recent graduate preferred
- Some knowledge and experience in repairing vehicles preferred
- Shows a high level of interest willingness to learn and embraces new ideas
- Good communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and exemplifies a positive attitude
- A valid drivers license
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds
- Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head
- Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicles needed repair
- Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand-tools
- Walk/stand for the majority of the workday
- Drive manual transmission vehicles
- Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment
- Efficiently navigate a computer
