Interim Specifications Technologist

This is a 3-6 month fixed term contract offering great flexibility working from home.

JOB PURPOSE:

We are looking for an experienced Specifications Technologist. You will be responsible for the completion of all specifications both customer and internal.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Produce and manage detailed internal finished product specifications and customer specifications in the format dedicated by the customer (Aldi PLM/M&S Find/Lidl Wave) ensuring all information is accurate and kept up to date in a timely manner.
• Completely understand each retailers requirements and advise site accordingly of any gaps.
• Validation of all product labels to ensure they accurately reflect specifications and comply with labeling regulations and legal requirements.
• Review and identify the gaps regarding all current raw material specifications for internal use ensuring that regular updates of specifications are obtained and approved.
• Provide accurate supplier information and technical support to other departments and customers.
• To assist in the preparation for any customer/retailer audits

• Previous experience of working with retailer specifications is essential (M&S/Aldi/Lidl advantageous). Excellent IT skills.
• Good knowledge & understanding of retailer standards & food labelling legislation.
• Proven experience as a Specifications Technologist or a similar role within the food industry.
• Excellent attention to detail skills is essential
• An enthusiastic team player with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both within the business and directly with customers and suppliers.
