Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in nutrition
- Masters degree preferred.
- RD/RDN from commission on dietetic registration
- LD- licensed in the state of Texas by TX Department of Licensing and Regulation
- An additional certification (CDCES CCTD CEDRD CHES CNSC CSO. CSOWM CSP CSPCC CSRCSSD or IBCLC) required.
- 7 years nutrition experience including 2 years clinical specialty area of focus required.
Responsibilities:
- Provides age-appropriate assessments and reassessments of all patients identified at nutrition risk to include diabetes management and education per established time frame/guidelines.
- Adapts nutrition plan to specific economic social cultural and age-appropriate patient needs utilizing progressive problem-solving skills.
- Implements proactive patient management through identification of trends anticipatory interventions non-apparent barriers such as cognitive or behavioral issues medication side effects.
- Leads interdisciplinary team in creating or improving nutrition related services practice or protocols.
- Serves as the subject matter expert in areas of expertise.
- Utilizes Nutrition Focused Physical Exams and other diagnostics and incorporates findings into interpretation and interventions of health condition.
- Researches and implements evidenced based practice into current practice.
