Technical Designer

Your Role

As a Technical Designer with our dynamic team in Miami your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge to produce functionally beautiful spaces for our clients. What You Will Do

• Contribute to architectural deliverables on projects working with Design Director(s) and project team(s) for all project phases including conceptual designs presentations schematic design design development construction documents and production

• Support and collaborate with design team clients consultants contractors fabricators regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives

• Contribute to resolution of complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions

• Produce graphic presentations 3D renderings and construction drawings

• Assist in managing client expectations team communication and consultant coordination

• Contribute to office activities initiatives and learning programs

• Advance the understanding that design resilience is a responsibility of every person at Gensler

• Cultivate design expertise with the desire to always learn grow and evolve

Your Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Architecture from an accredited program

• 3-6 years of relevant architecture and design experience within a commercial design firm

• Ideal candidate will have experience with multiple building typologies of varying scale including commercial office and mixed-use buildings sports and entertainment venues workplace interiors and repositioning projects

• Must be proficient in Revit and the Adobe Suite. Proficiency with Rhino Grasshopper Parametric Modeling Sketch-up 3D Studio Max and VRay is a plus.

• Knowledge of materials construction techniques and building codes and the design process

• Conceptual 3-dimensional thinking skills and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas

• Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development

• Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly

• A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

• Creativity Initiator that brings curiosity enthusiasm and a can do attitude

• Organization communication and relationship building skills

• Licensed / Registered Architect (If you are in the process of taking exams feel free to contact to discuss a similar role.)

• Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED Living Building Challenge WELL Building Standard Fitwel and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus which we look forward to discussing during the interview
