Job Summary and Responsibilities
Job summary:
Provide specialized care to postpartum mothers and newborns ensuring their physical and emotional well-being during the critical early days after childbirth.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess the health status of postpartum mothers and newborns.
- Provide education and support on breastfeeding infant care and postpartum recovery.
- Administer medications and perform medical procedures as required.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Offer emotional support and counseling to new mothers and their families
Job Requirements
Minimum:
- Valid nursing license and certification as a Registered Nurse.
- American Heart Association BLS
- NRP- if new to service line within 90 days of hire
- Experience in obstetric or maternal-child nursing preferred.
